About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our club into an exciting future. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will oversee all club operations, ensuring sustainable growth, financial stability, and a thriving, inclusive culture.


Key Responsibilities


  Overview

  Provide strong, strategic leadership to achieve club objectives.

  Oversee daily operations, including administration, finance, golf, bar, gaming, and catering services.

  Drive commercial success through effective budget management, marketing, and member engagement.

  Maintain high standards of member and guest satisfaction.

  Ensure facilities, equipment, and grounds are well maintained.

  Develop and implement marketing plans to grow the club’s profile.


Administration

  • Ensure club operations comply with relevant legislation, including Corporations Law, Registered Clubs Act, anti-      discrimination, OH&S, Liquor and Gaming and environmental requirements. • Act as the club’s licensee under the Liquor Act. • Implement Board policies. • Oversee clubhouse facilities and services. • Handle secretarial duties for Board, AGM, and subcommittee meetings. • Address member and guest needs, queries, and complaints. • Maintain relationships with reciprocal clubs and governing bodies (e.g., Golf Australia, Golf NSW, Clubs NSW). • Represent the club at functions and events. • Manage communication, including newsletters, notices, website, and social media.


Finance

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including wages, to achieve targets. • Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, providing recommendations. • Prepare the annual report and liaise with auditors. • Ensure accounting procedures align with accepted principles.


Course

  • Oversee course maintenance and projects with the Superintendent. • Communicate course updates to staff, members, and the Board.


Golf

  • Work with Head Golf Professional to ensure professional delivery of customer service, competitions, events and pro shop deliverables.


Human Resources

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and competencies. • Manage OH&S policies. • Oversee staff training, development, and performance management. • Provide a positive culture, providing leadership for staff.


About You

You will have a proven track record in club, hospitality, or business management. Golf Club Management experience would be advantageous. You will have a passion for delivering excellence and creating an environment where members, guests and staff feel valued and engaged.

Proven leadership or management experience in hospitality, clubs, or business.

Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, and cost management.

Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., liquor, gaming, workplace safety).

Exceptional communication skills.

Strategic thinking and sound decision-making under pressure.
