Cameron has grown up around golf and has developed both a passion for the industry and a strong network of connections throughout the industry worldwide.
An accomplished low handicap golfer, whilst still in school he was part of the Scotland development squad and played in many international golf tournaments within Europe and as far afield as South Africa.
Graduating in golf management in July 2019, during the summer months Cameron worked on golf courses as a greenkeeper. Included in these are The Castle Course (part of the prestigious St Andrews Links Trust collection of courses, Royal Bled in Slovenia and The Lakes, Sydney, to further his career within the industry.
During his studies he was awarded an R&A Scholarship which gave him the opportunity to be a part of a behind the scenes tour at The Open Championship at Carnoustie. Added to this he was awarded a Continuing Professional Development Award from the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association in January 2020.
These awards and his experience working as a greenkeeper provide him with an excellent grasp of what Superintendents are looking for in their crew members and the requirements and benefits of the role of greenkeeper, for both experienced and new to role candidates. Through his connections back in Europe and South Africa, Cameron is well placed to access the market of young greenkeepers in these locations.
