Front of House Staff  


Cape Wickham Golf Links is seeking full time/seasonal Front of House Staff to join our team. 

Ranked Australia’s #1 public access course & ranked in the top 25 golf courses internationally Cape Wickham is located on King Island, Tasmania. Along with golf we also provide accommodation facilities along with a busy onsite restaurant. 

We are seeking confident, polite, and friendly staff. You must show authenticity and be passionate about delivering high quality experiences to our guests! 

Accommodation is available, while the position would suit an individual/couple who is comfortable living remotely. 


Crew Requirements include:

  • Must be passionate about good food!

  • Must have previous hospitality experience.

  • Can make an excellent coffee and carry it to a table.

  • Loves people and works well in a team environment.

  • Be flexible in tasks and show initiative.

  • Have reasonable availability.

  • Be a golf fan or be willing to learn about golf.


General Tasks include:

  • Checking in golfers and accommodation guests.

  • Table service. 

  • Food orders/delivery.

  • Alcohol sales.

  • Cleaning clubhouse facilities.

  • Merchandise and accessories sales.


It would be advantageous to:

  • Hold a current Tasmanian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate

  • To be available to work nights, weekends and public holidays

General Purpose:

Offers superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting management in merchandising, inventory control, reservations and special events preparation. Serves guests food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Performs registration of golfers and in-house guests.


Essential Duties:

  • Performs opening and closing procedures for the shop and clubhouse.

  • Responsible for accountability of all sales and money transactions made.

  • Collects applicable fees from guests as they arrive.

  • Makes reservations (tee times, accommodation bookings, lunch and dinner bookings etc) and assists guests on the phone in a pleasant and efficient manner.

  • Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.

  • Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.

  • Assists with creating appealing displays.

  • Assists with periodic physical inventories.

  • Assist with general cleaning of the shop and clubhouse.

  • Stow golf carts away when required, remove all rubbish and place on charge.

  • Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.

  • Describes specials of the day to the guests and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.

  • Follows up with guest to ensure satisfaction.  Replenishes items as needed.

  • Follows established standards for greeting, food delivery and general service techniques.

  • Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.

  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Performs other duties as required.



  • Each role is full time seasonal.

  • Each role will be required to work approximately 38 hours over a seven-day working week.

  • Each role will be paid as per the Hospitality Award (casual rate). 

Eg; Most likely - Level 2, Food & beverage attendant, Grade 2           or 

                                         -Level 3, Food & beverage attendant, Grade 3

Start/Finish Date:

  • Will be required to start as soon as possible.

  • Finishing up around end of May



We offer two types of accommodation:

2 x 4-bedroom share house.

  • Located 15-20 minutes from Cape Wickham Golf Links.

  • May be sharing house with other staff members.

  • $100/week (includes water, electricity)

  • Linen is not provided


  • Located onsite at Cape Wickham Golf Links.

  • Single room (with desk and chair, bar fridge, shower, toilet and basin)

  • Maintenance building lunch room used as common room.

  • $100/week (includes water, electricity)



Main way of transport on King Island is via private car. This means that staff will either need to bring a car with them or buy a car on the island.

About King Island & Cape Wickham Golf Links:

King Island is located in the Bass Strait in between Victoria and the north-western tip of Tasmania.
